IVF Cost
IVF COST STRUCTURE
Our IVF cost structure will vary depending on the level of IVF treatment you and your partner require. City Fertility Centre will provide you with a detailed cost quote prior to the commencement of IVF treatment. Please direct any questions that you may have regarding IVF costs to the City Fertility Centre administration staff.
ESTIMATED IVF COST
There have been substantial reductions in the cost of many fertility treatments since the introduction of the Federal Government Medicare Plus (Safety Net) programme.
The out-of-pocket costs for the majority of the City Fertility Centre procedures now range from as little as $50.00 through to $2000.00 for more intensive IVF treatments. The savings generated from these out-of- pocket cost reductions have clearly made IVF more affordable for many couples.
MEDICARE IVF COSTS & REBATES
The Medicare Safety Net covers up to 80% of the out of pocket costs for many IVF fertility treatments. In order to be eligible the patient must register for Medicare Plus and have reached the appropriate safety net threshold. Patients can register online via the Medicare website, www.hic.gov.au, or by visiting a Medicare office or City Fertility Centre. For a more detailed explanation, please contact Medicare or the City Fertility Centre.
PRIVATE HEALTH COVER & IVF COSTS
Please be advised that some private health funds will treat infertility as a pre-existing condition. This means that the usual waiting periods will apply before becoming eligible for these refunds. We recommend that the patient contact their own health fund for advice regarding rebates on IVF fertility treatments.
ADDITIONAL IVF COSTS
DOCTORS FEES:
In addition to the fees payable to the City Fertility Centre, you will also receive an account for the treatment cycle from your Fertility Specialist. These fees are eligible for rebates from both Medicare and Private Health Funds. Please contact your doctor’s receptionist to obtain further information and quotes for these procedures.
ANAESTHETICS (Charged by the Anaesthetist)
The fees charged by the anaesthetist will vary depending on the length of the procedure and individual billing procedures. If you have private health insurance please contact your fund for advice on applicable rebates. Medicare rebates also apply.
HOSPITAL PRICES
The theatre and bed fees will be charged by the relevant private hospital listed above. Medicare will not pay anything towards private hospital charges; however, if you have private health insurance with hospital cover you will be eligible for a refund. City Fertility Centre recommends that you contact your Private Health fund to determine the refund amount that you will receive.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Please be assured that all services are provided in a completely discreet and confidential environment.
