Dr Jennifer Pontré is a specialist gynaecologist with an interest in IVF, fertility preservation, endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
She is one of only a small number of gynaecologists in Perth to have completed the Australasian Gynaecologic and Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) Fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery, a two-year training program undertaken by gynaecologists who wish to pursue additional training in surgery for endometriosis and fertility.
Dr Pontré received her medical degree with Honours from the University of Western Australia. She subsequently gained a breadth of experience working at Fremantle Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital, and undertook her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King Edward Memorial Hospital. Subsequent to obtaining her FRANZCOG, Dr Pontré completed her AGES fellowship followed by a final fellowship year in Dublin, Ireland.
Throughout her years of training, Dr Pontré has maintained a strong commitment to the study of reproductive endocrinology and fertility. She has completed post-graduate studies in this area and holds a Masters through the University of New South Wales in Reproductive Medicine.
She has published several papers and book chapters in the field, and previously received an academic prize from the Fertility Society of Australia for her work on embryo implantation. She was the recipient of a Churchill Fellowship in 2019 to further her specialty interest in the management of endometriosis.
In addition to working at Fertility Specialists, Dr Pontré holds an appointment as a member of the Endoscopy Unit at King Edward Memorial Hospital, and has a private gynaecology practice at Hollywood Private Hospital.
