With Dr Stephen Elgey you are assured of supportive care and advice from pre-conception to cradle, by a doctor who’s walked in your shoes.
Dr Elgey works primarily in:
Dr Elgey started his career as a scientist working in the detection of genetic problems that cause pregnancy losses and fetal abnormalities. Wanting to care for women beyond the microscope, he took off his lab coat and returned to study medicine at the University of Queensland.
He now provides care and advice to women and their partners who are looking to become pregnant, having trouble falling pregnant, or simply want a doctor they can trust to care for them all the way through to the birth of their baby. Dr Elgey’s practice at Sunnybank encompasses a wide range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions, including high-risk pregnancy, endometriosis management, pelvic floor issues and laparoscopic surgery.
Having been on an IVF journey with his wife Lara, he has had an insight into the sometimes difficult journey of fertility treatments and beyond. Dr Elgey is now a proud father of three and understands that there is no greater joy than the safe arrival of a baby.
With his relaxed yet careful approach, he will guide you through the process with personalised attention and support. He is passionate about keeping abreast of the latest in options to help ensure you get the right treatment.
Dr Elgey is proud to offer care to all women wanting to become pregnant, either with their partner or with the help of a donor, and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your situation and options with you.
Dr Elgey strives to accommodate new patients within 10 working days.
