Kathryn is a specialist fertility counsellor available to assist individuals and couples before, during and after fertility treatments, including donor counselling.
Kathryn works primarily in:
- Fertility issues (including donor counselling)
- Perinatal mental health
- Sexual function and intimacy issues
- Grief and loss
- Birth trauma
Kathryn is a registered counsellor, psychosexual therapist and lawyer. She also has lived experience of infertility and fertility treatment. Kathryn uses a tailored and trauma-informed approach, drawing on several evidence-based treatment modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and somatic therapies. She welcomes clients of all gender/sexuality perspectives and family types, and can also provide a Christian-faith counselling experience where this is requested by clients.
Kathryn is a member of the Australian Counsellors Association (ACA) (Level 3), the Australia and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA), for whom she is the Queensland Representative, and the Asia Pacific Initiative on Reproduction (ASPIRE). She holds degrees in law, psychology, counselling, and sexual and reproductive health.
Kathryn has a particular interest in sexual function and intimacy difficulties related to infertility.
