Laughter may Increase Chances of IVF Success

A recent study demonstrating that laughter can play a role in increasing IVF success is giving hope to many couples.

The year-long study by Dr Shevach Friedler found that laughter increased the rate of successful fertilisation: 36 per cent of women who were entertained just after the embryos were transferred fell pregnant during the study, while only 20 per cent of women who were not entertained fell pregnant.

Dr Friedler noted that more research is needed into other relaxation and happiness techniques before the study is complete, but in the meantime these findings have given hopeful couples another avenue to potentially improve their chances of IVF success.
